Magazine Project
“The Living Page” is a project in which I experimented with designing a magazine cover and layout. From there, I started to brainstorm. I quickly decided on a traditional animation theme as I really love the style. The Living Page is made to look a bit like a traditional animation pad, with the gold page pegs along the spine, the flipped up corner, and even the pencil.
- The name The Living Page comes from how animation is essentially drawing come to life, and the word “Page” denotes a magazine
- The tag line “The Illusion of Life Made Real” makes the concept feel even more like something you might find on a point of purchase store magazine rack
- Peter Pan is hand drawn using an original pencil sketch from the film for reference
- Featured behind Peter is genuine concept art from the film
- I drew the Disney characters behind Glen Kean, (lower right corner). Rough pencil sketches were used for reference, except for Tarzan or Aladdin; I used screen shots as guidance for them
- Created entirely in Adobe Photoshop
